First Fish with Parker in 2 years!

YES!!  Parker is home he arrived home on Wed. Feb. 29th from Birmingham England.  We spent the weekend getting things in order at the house and other duties done the rest of the week.  He asked me Sunday if I could take off Monday.  I of course said you bet!  I have waited for 2 years to have time with him and this was the perfect opportunity.  We woke up Monday and got on the road around 8:30am.  We headed south it was looking like a good day to be out.  I asked my friend about a couple lakes and he suggested we hit Nine Mile Reservoir in Sanpete County.  It is about 1.5 hours south of us so we headed out and got to the lake around 10:00am.  We pulled into one of the parking areas and there were a few other vehicles there.  We watched a gentleman pull in a very nice 4lb rainbow and that was all we needed to see, we congratulated him on a great catch.  We got our gear ready to go and started over the muddy I mean MUDDY terrain to the lake.  We got settled in for a bit and watched as the guys up bank from us pull in fish after fish we started wondering what we were doing wrong.  One of the boys limited out and left so we packed up and headed up bank and through the MUD it was sloppy and slick and thick!!!  We got settled in again and asked the guys what they were using and we made the change to what they were using.  We were running 2 poles one baited and the other running everything from blue foxes to jakes, still nothing happening.  We watched and adjusted to what they were doing.  Another one limited and headed out the one guy left said come on over, there is a hole here that is about 15 foot wide the we are catching them and just inside the moss bed out there.  He showed Parker what he was doing where to cast and what to do.  I put on a chub KM and finally got one to hook up, a nice cutt with very nice colors.

Parker got one in the next few minutes but by the time I got the camera out he had lost control of his and it went back to the lake.  We released all fish.  Parker had a great time talking to all the boys on the lake and spreading the word :)  He is still in Missionary mode which is fun to watch at times.  We met up with a gentleman by the name of Fenton Mills from a local town he was funny old guy with lots of things to say.  He watched us pack up and leave and decided it was too MUDDY to venture out on the lake bank.  As we left, he broke out his fly pole and went across the highway to a small inlet pond and started casting.  We headed home and stopped off at Reed's in Nephi, got a burger and made for home.  What a great day!!! It was a Blue Bird day with plenty of sun a small breeze.  We got a little color ourselves for the day.  It was the perfect start to a new fishing adventure chapter for us.  til next time keep smilin!
