Fishing Yuba Reservoir Walleye and Wiper.

Kelly and I made our annual trip to Yuba in search of monster pike. We launched and started fishing right off the ramp, and then moved and moved and moved until we made our way back to the ramp. We were going to target smallmouth bass, but on the way back, we caught a walleye. So we kept trolling. We ended up with a few Wipers. The wind came up and blew us off the lake. Someday, we might figure out the pike. Join us for a few minutes.

Fishing Scofield before the Storm

Jim and I fished Scofield Reservoir last week and did our best at finding something they wanted. Maybe the storm shut down the bite? Maybe we just didn't have what they wanted. We managed a few, though. Stop in and give us a sub, and like, comment too, we enjoy conversations.

Fishing Starvation Reservoir Utah

Sally and I returned from our 2-week excursion to New Zealand and Australia, and it just seemed right to get on the lake and catch some fish. Parker hosted this trip on the Pearl, and Kelly joined us. More to come on the vacation Down Under. The fishing trip was on Friday morning, and it started out calm. Around 12:30, the wind kicked up, and we got off the lake. The target for the day was walleye, well, that was the intention, but after 2 hours of no bites, we quickly started trolling. The first catch was a nice brown trout, but that was it; there were no other bites, so we anchored, and Parker put out some PowerBait and got a few hits and nice rainbow trout quickly before we got blown off the lake. Fishing Echo Reservoir

On Thursday, we fished Echo Reservoir, knowing that it would be extremely low by midsummer. The fishing reports had been positive, and the docks were in place. Jim met me at 6 a.m., and we loaded up. The drive is just over an hour from my house, and we arrived just as the sun crested the ridgeline. It was a bit chilly at 34 degrees, but it warmed up quickly. It was an absolute bluebird day, with no wind and few other boats when we launched. As the day went on, more fishing boats showed up, so we ran lanes to avoid heavy pressure, and we kept fish on the line all day. The go-to lure was a Yellow Perch Flicker Shad; both deep and shallow divers worked for us. Stop by and hang out with us. Ice Fishing Scofield Reservoir

Saturday morning, we fished Scofield and caught a few rainbow trout and a couple of cutthroat trout. The jaw jackers were the busiest, but a curly tail grub caught a few as well. Stop by and see what we caught at Fish Steeler Chronicles

Snowmobiling Yellowstone 2026

This weekend, we took our family to Yellowstone for a snowmobile tour. We had a great time seeing plenty of bison along the way. The tour included two nights at the Three Bear Lodge in West Yellowstone, which is a fantastic place to stay.
Drop by and see if you can spot the Avalanche in the background. Oh, and give us a sub.

Ice Fishing Southern Utah 2026-01-25

We had an adventure this weekend, fishing in Southern Utah. Stop by and hang out for a few minutes. We fished Panguitch Lake, which had a good, solid 8 inches of ice. We caught a dozen or so rainbow trout. Otter Creek was a little more sketchy with soft edges and three inches of clear hard ice. Stop by and see how we did. Thanks, and consider subscribing.
