On The Ice at Scofield

This is long over due, but at least I'm getting to it.  We went out a couple weeks ago and introduced ice fishing to Jeremy Johnson, he was my son's Doctorate professor and he wanted to go ice fishing. We obliged of course and made a trip to Scofield.

We arrived at sunrise and it was a beautiful one, if only we could have seen it. It was snowing when we pulled in and continued to as prepared the gear.  Parker took Jeremy across the lake to our favorite bay and then came back and picked me up. We got our holes cut and tent set up and starting fishing.

Jeremy had a fish on in less than ten minutes a small cutthroat, but we were on the board. We fished the morning away and caught a handful of cutthroat and a tiger trout. We did end up with one stinky chub he became eagle feed. As we fished the morning it kept snowing.  By the time we had to make our way off the ice it had put down 6 inches. We were happy to see it! We made a good morning of it and have another ice fisherman.

Fishing was about to turn to boat season, but this past week has been winter on the Wasatch front and we are happy about that.
