Strawberry

6.15.13  Fished Strawberry with Craig today went to Renegade marina and fished in the Indian Springs bay and channel.  We fished from 7:30 to 3:30.  Best fishing was definitely the morning in the bay they were hitting rainbow pop and worm for us.  Mac was running a Jake's lure and a green tube jig trolling he had one hit on the Jake's.  After I landed my 5th fish he decided to join the dark side and throw out some pop gear.  he had his first hit that took the entire pop gear rig....lol we are saying it was a huge fish.  Re-rigged and kept going and caught a few more before the hit shut off around 10:30-11:00.  There were so many boats in the bay it was crazy!  They were anchored and bait fishing some were doing well others weren't catching anything.  We ended up with around 20 fish, couple of nice Rainbows and a couple that gilled themselves we had to keep ended up in our cooler on ice.  We caught a couple bruiser cutthroats and bunch of medium sized ones but no keepers!  We broke for lunch and went to the narrows, by then the wind had kicked up as it does at Strawberry.  Put the boat sideways and slow drifted the channel with everything we could think of, but got nothing.  We decided we had gotten enough sun by 3:30 and went for home.  On the way out we got stopped by a check station they had 50 Fish and Game cops there checking everyone.  Good to see them actually patrolling somewhat.
