Jordanelle Browns and Smallies

Last month we hit Jordanelle going for brown trout and bows. Jim and Brandon joined me on the Fish Steeler. We arrived at sunrise and were trolling before the sun was above the horizon. We were running the small dock lane that has always been a good producer for us during fall fishing.

We ran pop gear and a worm on a couple poles and husky jerks on a couple poles to see what and where the fish were hitting. The husky jerk produced the first fish of the day. Brandon reeled it in, it was the best fish of the day. A nice Brown trout to knock the skunk off the boat. We fished that lane for a good hour and got a couple more hits but no nets were needed.

We went up the bank to the dam and ran that lane a couple times and got nothing. We pulled the trolling motor in and ran to the back of Rock Cliffs and trolled a while and I got a couple rainbow trout. We decided to try out luck with casting crank baits, no luck.

We pulled up again, went to Keetley bay and kept throwing crank baits and tube jigs to the banks and produced a couple small mouth bass and a couple more rainbows. We fished the morning away and loaded up for home around 1 pm. It definitely was not fast and furious and by late morning we were fighting wind. Still a great time on the pond.
