Fish Lake Ice Fishing 2-25-17

Saturday morning I met up with Parker at his place and he invited a few friends to join us today. Cameron and Cody Hunt, and Jordan Hymas. They met us there and we were on the road by 5:30 am. Cameron drove and the trip was nice since I just got to ride along. We arrived at Fish Lake and went to east end of the lake, readied our gear and got on the lake by 7:30.

Parker was the first in the water and the first to catch a Splake trout with in about 2 minutes of being at the camp. Jordan was soon to follow with a nice rainbow trout. I was next in the video at the beginning you see my pole get hit hard with a nice rainbow trout. We fished for about an hour and the wind kicked up and the holes had gone dead so Parker and Jordan set the tent and moved inside for the remainder of the day.

We were fishing 100 feet of water and the fish were suspended at 30 feet. We were using paddles and a few other soft plastics, but the glow in the dark paddles were the hot ticket tipped with wax worms. I got another rainbow and then Cody landed his first fish another rainbow.  Parker got in on the action again as well as Jordan each with rainbow trout. Cameron took a little while to get on the board but he did with a nice fat rainbow.

All in all we landed 17 fish, 1 splake and and 16 rainbow trout.  Parker and Jordan had to work later that day so we only fished until noon.  Great morning on the lake.  Good company and fun times were had. You can watch the video posted below, be sure to follow. The camera died early so we only got a couple of the fish on video. Around 10:30 it got better and stayed that way until we had to leave.
