Strawberry Kokanee Fishing

Tuesday morning met up with Danny and his friend Bruce and we headed to Strawberry Reservoir. We made it to lake around 9:30 and hit the water and went Danny's way points on is finder. His finder is loaded with catches in the area we started fishing. Danny's boat is set up to fish Kokanee Salmon with 4 down riggers he also has holder for long lining with lead lined poles. We placed all six poles and started fishing.

We trolled for about hour and we had a coupled hits and even landed a cutthroat, Danny doesn't allow the cutthroat trout on his boat...lol. They are released without touching them so they don't get injured in the process. Seeing that the Kokanee weren't where we were we moved into another lane that is again loaded with catches. The second choice of lanes proved successful.

In our second lane we landed six Kokanee Salmon and another 12 cutthroat trout. All Cutthroat were released without touching the boat. The Kokanee ended up on ice in the cooler. We fished until 2 pm we had a great day on the pond. Lots of laughs and relaxing. Bruce was deemed the Cutthroat master he landed the majority of them.
