New Boat Outing with Shifty Outdoors

Shifty of Shifty Outdoors got himself a boat and we took it on its maiden voyage to Jordanelle.  We got on the water by 6:20 am and were fishing by 6:30 am.  The boat is a nice Fisher brand boat 16 ft with a 75hp Merc on it. It is set up nicely with good storage and plenty of room both aft and stern. Has live wells both aft and stern as well.  Shifty matched it with a Minn Kota 55 and co-pilot.

We trolled most of the morning hitting lanes that had been producing early in the season, but today, not so much.  Shifty manage a couple of rainbows and a number of hits. Me on the other hand got a couple hits but didn't set the hook on any trout.

We broke the troll around 10:30 and went to the shore looking for small mouth bass.  We located them and got a couple a piece.  I landed the first one, but again very slow for us.  I think I am cursed this season.  Parker went out the next day and loaded up on rainbow and managed a couple Kokanee.

The reason for the trip was to test out the boat and it performed flawlessly, Shifty has a keeper in this boat, good stability and maneuverability.  We loaded up at 3:30 and headed for home with a good sunburn and good day on the pond.
