Catching Pigs with the Grandsons!

6-29-19  My oldest son Jimmy and his boys joined me on the Fish Steeler Saturday morning at Deer Creek. I picked them up at 5 am and they were ready and waiting. We hit the road and headed for the lake. We were on the water just before sunrise and had lines in the water soon after launch.

Soon after like 2-3 minutes later we had our first fish on pop-gear and worm, the JoD was a good choice again for the morning troll.  Max reeled in the first fish of the day, a nice Rainbow trout. We got that line back int he water and set the Bolo rainbow pop-gear and as always I put a B-shad in the water to hit the upper column.  We fished for about another 10 minutes and the second fish came knocking this time Harrison reeled it in and landed another nice Rainbow trout. Then the JoD got hit and Max reeled in yet another big Rainbow trout. First, double up of the day.  Max rebaited his hook and set the line back into the water all on his own today and is becoming a great fisherman.  He set and reeled in the majority of his own fish this morning. Harrison is better at reeling them in and holding them.

We fished the entire morning on the dam loop and then went up the railroad side of the lake and got into some big fish in that lane as well. The wind came in and the recreaters came on and that pretty much ended the fishing for the day.
We had a great morning troll and caught a lot of nice Rainbow trout before stowing the poles and trolling motor.  Each of the boys got to catch fish and Jimmy and myself even got to reel in a couple. The B-shad didn't disappoint it caught a few fish in the upper column of water as well.

Harrison wanted to go for a ride so we stowed the trolling motor and put the big motor to work and ran to the north end of the lake and back to the marina for a little ride at a "fast" speed, lol.
